Job Responsibility:
  • Analyze financial data and extract and define relevant information; interpret data for the purpose of determining past financial performance. Develop management, narrative, and statistical reports.
  • Manipulate, and/or format data and/or reports. Perform threshold analysis and make recommendations to Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). Track progress of document reviews performed by financial managers, performing activities, and ACO’s. Prepare monthly status and end of period reports showing reviewed percents, confirmed funds, excess funds, and other statistics.
  • Provide analyst service to SPAWAR in reconciling aged outstanding obligations discrepancies in DoN Accounting and Reporting System. Duties include reconciling accounting discrepancies, communication with performing activities and contracts officers’ for status and documentation, compiling documentation into work packages for processing. Track corrective packages to ensure discrepancies are corrected.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant DoD and/or agency regulations and restrictions. Use various software applications including MS Office with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Provide supervision to 2 other team members.
 
Primary Required Skill Requirements:
Must have two (2) years experience in SPAWAR Financial Management. Experience and skilled with DoD/DoN acquisition, program and financial management tools to include STARS, COBRA, iRAPS, BRACE, EDA, and SCRT are strongly desired. Knowledge of the DoD/Navy budgeting and acquisition processes. Detailed knowledge of U.S. Government organizations, their functions and responsibilities. Organized, research abilities, analysis, work independently and with a team, MS Office with heavy Excel - must be comfortable using formulas (vlookup’s, if statement’s, and pivot tables). Government accounting or financial experience.
 
Education/Equivalent:
Financial Management, Business, or Accounting degree.
