Local Woman-Owned Small Business Receives 8(a) Certification from SBA
San Diego, California, July 12, 1999

INDUS Technology, Inc. recently received notification that the SBA has approved its inclusion into the 8(a) program. This program provides significant benefits for disadvantaged minorities and women business owners in doing business with the US Government. INDUS, founded by Dr. K. P. Sridhar, was incorporated in the summer of 1991. During the first six years of operation the company was focused on mechanical engineering consulting. In 1998 the company began providing high-tech services to San Diego’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), SPAWAR Systems Center (SSC) San Diego and other Department of Defense organizations.

K. P. Sridhar, President and Chief Executive Officer of INDUS Technology said, "INDUS is delighted to receive the 8(a) certification. Defense contracting is a tough marketplace, and though our business plan provided for growth over the next few years the 8(a) status will accelerate that process. Our growth has mostly been from customer referrals; the preferential status from SBA will allow us to move into other niches and geographical regions."

INDUS specializes in Command, Control, Communications, and Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) operations, as well as Weapons Systems development and Logistics. Its employees and consultants also provide state-of-the-art systems and software engineering, development, integration, and analysis as well as program management expertise to its customers.
