Jim Lasswell, President of the San Diego Chapter of the National Defense Association (NDIA) and President of INDUS Technology, Inc., has been elected to the NDIA National Board of Trustees. The NDIA National Board of Directors and Trustees, composed of senior executives from the defense industry, provides board oversight in support of NDIA’s operations and its mission statement.

NDIA’s mission is to provide a legal and ethical forum for the interchange of ideas between the government and industry to resolve industrial problems of joint concern. NDIA’s primary areas of interest are the business and technical aspects of the government-industry relationship, encompassing government policies and practices in the entire acquisition process, including research and development, procurement, logistics support, and many technical areas.

The association is the result of the 1997 merger of the American Defense Preparedness Association and the National Security Industrial Association. NDIA is a non-profit, educational association representing industry, government, and all military services. More than 1,100 companies and more that 31,000 individuals build their businesses, careers, and the future of the industrial base through membership in NDIA as its affiliates. The association does its work through a network of divisions and chapters and some 60 national meetings each year that focus on government policy and practice in a broad range of areas.
